Whether reading about a game after the fact, or watching it in person and hearing the commentary, sports coverage is important to the athletic experience. At Indiana State, school journals, newspapers, yearbooks, the internet, and now even watching and listening to coverage on the radio and on TV are key to keeping up-to-date with your favorite ISU team. Since the start, the Indiana Advance updated students monthly, on each team’s success. With the creation of The Statesman school newspaper, the athletic section offered constant updates for the ever growing sports teams at ISU. The Sycamore yearbook became the site for a year end-cap explanation for the success and failures of our teams. For those who wanted immediate commentary, sports announcers at the games and then radio and TV became the site for sporting information. Today, The Statesman continues to offer sports coverage of ISU teams, but local newspapers, TV stations, and now the ISU student- produce live broadcasts of ISU games through ESPN3 provide not just updates, but actual live coverage of Indiana State athletics.
