After World War II ended, vast numbers of men attended the Indiana State Teachers College under the GI Bill which helped pay for veterans to attend school. As the number of students attending Indiana State increased, students developed traditions that helped to unite student groups, and even residence halls, together. The singing competition, Songfest, and the skit competition, Campus Revue, became popular activities as residence halls and student organizations competed.
